1. Clean the installation surface of units to be insulated from dust, dirt and previous peeling paint by using metallic brushes and a clean cloth. Use industrial vacuum cleaners to prevent repeated dust settlement on the installation surface.

2. Clean the installation surface from grease impurities. For cleaning, it is possible to use organic solvents like acetone, butyl alcohol (butanol) or an alcohol/gasoline mixture. The mandatory condition for installing is absence of traces of moisture or frost on locating surface.

3. Prior to installation of the ferrous metal pipes by the adhesive insulation tape, those should be primed or painted with compounds containing no drying oil.

4. Take measurement of the installation surface being insulated. Cut off parts of the required size from the adhesive material. In insulating the pipes, measure and cut off the insulating surfaces strictly in accordance with the pipe perimeter.

5. After cutting the material to separate parts, it should be laid down and kept in the spread condition for no less than 24 hours.

6. During installation, remove the protective film from one end of the object and tightly press the adhesive material to the installation surface. Gradually removing the protective film, apply the adhesive material to the installation surface, rolling it down with the rubber-coated roll for removing air bubbles from adhesive points and achieving the maximum adhesion. In installation, it is necessary to apply the installation roll pressure of no less than 0.5 kg/cm2 to the material being installed. The full strength of surface adhesive is achieved after 24 hours (exposure needed before use).

7. The temperature of installation surface during installation with the use of adhesive material should not exceed the temperature range of the adhesive layer (from +18°С to 35°С). If necessary, the installation surface should be heated to the required level by the industrial heating fan.

8. In case of overheating or overcooling of the adhesive layer beyond the admitted operating temperature, an extra mechanical adhesive device should be provided in the form of bandage strips, dedicated dowels or brackets fastened by the stapler.

9. During the winter, while using the heat insulation material out of doors, it is necessary to expose it, before installation, in a heated room at a temperature not below +18°C for no less than 24 hours, cut the material to individual plates to the required size and provide at least 5 minutes between removal from the heated room and the installation. In this case, the installation surface should be heated up to the temperature of no less than +18?C.

Note:

  • In the event of cold water supply, air conditioning, and refrigeration system, all the length- and crosswise joints and connections should be glued with a special fast drying glue like Energoflex Ultra, and insulated with an adhesive tape for air tightness.
  • Insulation should be made after isolating the equipment being insulated from power supply sources. As this is done, the assured temperature should be no less than +18?C with the traces of moisture on the installation surface completely removed.

Adhesive materials storage:

Adhesive materials should be stored in a heated, dry room protected against direct sunshine at a temperature of +15 to +25°C and humidity of 50-70 %, no less than 1 m from heating devices. Rolls should be stored in a vertical position (stacking of no more than two layers). The sheet material should be put in stacks no more than 2 m high.
